Role Overview:

The Business Engagement Specialist builds relationships with companies to promote inclusive hiring and workplace diversity. The specialist educates employers on inclusive practices, creates networking opportunities, and offers ongoing support for long-term success. This role fosters community change and a diverse workforce by promoting inclusive policies. Success requires understanding business needs, a passion for inclusion, and strong relationship-building skills. This position creates meaningful change and helps businesses recognize the benefits of workforce diversity.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with employers, community organizations, and stakeholders to advance program goals.
Employer Feedback and Engagement Strategies: Monitor and assess employer feedback to continually refine and improve engagement strategies.
Networking and Training Opportunities: Organize and lead networking events, training sessions, and learning opportunities for employers focused on workplace inclusion and disability awareness.
Program Data Collection and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and report on program data, including tracking quantitative metrics (e.g., number of employer partnerships, hires) and qualitative outcomes (e.g., employer satisfaction, program impact).
Program Promotion and Outreach: Promote the program and its activities through digital platforms (social media, website, email campaigns) and offline channels (networking events, community outreach).
Marketing and Content Development: Contribute to developing marketing materials and content highlighting success stories, program outcomes, and other key achievements.

Additional Responsibilities:

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends and best practices in inclusive hiring and workplace diversity.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed of best practices, industry trends, and new employment and workplace inclusion strategies.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Vulnerable Sector Screening Criminal Reference Check
Proven experience working with individuals facing employment barriers, particularly those with disabilities
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with diverse groups, including employers and community stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and creating professional written content
Comfort with cold calling and initiating outreach to employers and community members
Passion for supporting organizations to foster inclusive and supportive work environments
Education and/or experience in human services, business management, or related fields is an asset
Familiarity with accessibility and inclusion standards in the workplace is an advantage
